Bella Lavender’s story starts back in 2008 when the Riverland region was faced with drought, low water allocations and an unsure future for wine grape growers.

Resilience and innovation are strong characteristics that underpin the people in the region and the Centofanti family are no exception.

The idea of a lavender farm in the Riverland came to Mario and Lucy whilst they were on vacation, exploring regional towns, delicacies and experiences – and so the seed was planted.

Taking the leap into this new venture involved the removal of a large patch of vines to make way for the plump rows of grey and purple lavender that you see today. Like all great stories, this one grew over time and the Bella Lavender Farm established itself as a must see destination in the region. Boasting a range of products that are produced on-site, visitors can treat themselves to lavender essential and massage oils, soaps, personal and animal care products or their highly sought after arthritis and muscle rub cream.

Lavender has even made its way onto the menu with their unique honey and lavender scones, which are best enjoyed with one of Mario’s freshly brewed coffees. Alternatively, visitors can dine-in or take away one of their crisp wood-oven fired pizza’s, whilst enjoying one of the local wines, beers or ciders.

Today, Bella Lavender is a vibrant and welcoming Lavender Farm and Café which boasts expansive lavender fields, putt-putt golf, children’s playground and the café and gift shop. Perfect for that family gathering, quiet dinner or coffee with friends, the café is warm and inviting with visitors greeted with a welcoming smile and courteous service.

Awarded for outstanding achievement in quality and innovation for regional product and tourism experience.
