Enjoy our range of beers, ciders and hard lemonade from our woolshed brewery.
As you head up the hill past the Black Stump in Paringa, winding your way past Heading’s Landing and the vineyards on the way to Custom’s House, there is a bend in the river where you will find a woolshed and a brewery.
Known to the locals as Wilkadene and the Woolshed Brewery, it is the perfect place to spend an afternoon sitting beside the majestic Murray River on the timber deck which is hemmed with tall gum trees that make the light dapple and provide shade to those who sit below enjoying a beverage or two. Patrons can enjoy the sights of a houseboat docking into the homestead to collect supplies or a tinnie cruising up the river from their camping spot to meet friends for a drink and a yarn. Accessible by river or by road, this unique location brings together the perfect combination of history and community with something that is so undoubtedly Australian – the art of beer and brewing.
The inspiration for this unique combination came from owners Tom and Sarah Freeman, whose passion for the Riverland, both its people and its produce, combined with an amazing location and a love of great beer spurred the decision to install a microbrewery at Wilkadene, in the properties old woolshed.
With ideas to do something with the woolshed discussed for many years prior, the decision to create a microbrewery became the obvious choice as this was one thing the Riverland so dearly needed. The brewery also provided the opportunity to work with many local producers to create high quality natural offerings including beer, cider, wine, local produce and hard lemonade.
With its river views, rich history and relaxed atmosphere Tom and Sarah Freeman have created an experience truly unique to the wonderful Riverland area.
